The trip continues… the trip has had some great moments, some long hikes, some great weather and some great fish. It has also had some trying conditions. Last year’s wet weather – 450mm in a day – has been reversed and many locations have seen record low rainfalls for the month of Nov. But, now we poke around a little differently than last year, and instead of avoiding monsoons, we look for colder water, stable water, new water, and play the flow and temperature game. It’s been ok, we're having a great time as we spend a little more time with our friends Bob & Karen who are visiting for their first trip. The shot of the eel below is a great one as I stood with the fish eye about 6" above the water, right above its tail. About 5 feet long. Creepy but cool. The biggest annoyance in the country are Paradise Ducks. Find a duck, find a large trout. Find a duck, see the duck flap through the pool. Flapping = SPOOKED!
