Last info received from Thailand fishing guide Jean Francois Helias:

That lake, located only a few meters from the Ratchaburi predators lake (same owner), has been stocked for 4 years with mainly carp and barb species. My boys Kik, Noi, and I know each part of that lake and its bottom like

LAOS: a great catch, an huge Jullien Golden carp
Here a short report from fishing guide Jean Francois Helias: "Coming to Laos during the rainy season was of course not going to bring us the best fishing conditions. But my client could only take his vacation at that period. Also he is more of a photographer than an angler. So not catching fish was not a problem to him. More important was for him to take lots of great photos. Laos just

I've been carp fishing for 3 days at Ratchaburi while guiding clients, catching lots of Rohu (biggest ones around 6.00 kg), and a lovely 6.50 kg Small Scale Mud Carp (aka Mrigal) which is now my PB for that specie. Today I was finally rewarded for my efforts with a 38.00 kg (weighed on certified scales) Siamese carp I caught this afternoon! One of my 3 clients, Nicolas Frutieaux from France,

THAILAND: Monster Mekong Catfish
Probably the biggest catfish ever caught by rod and reel. Here the story:
A retired naval officer landed an 18-stone fish using a tiny piece of sweetcorn as bait on a fishing trip.
Welshman David Kent, 54, battled the monstrous catfish for an hour while on holiday in Thailand with his wife Isabel.
David, of Tenby, had not caught anything in the lake in Krabi (Thailand) all day when the Giant

THAILAND: home of giant Siamese Carp
A claim has been made that the world's biggest carp has been caught in Thailand by a local fisherman named Kik. Kik, who works as a guide for mainly European sportsmen, said the monster carp was caught caught on a homemade rod and was too heavy for the angler's scales.
Kik belongs to the Jean-Francois Helias' Fishing Adventures team and was trying to catch a Mekong catfish.
Instead he hooked

THAILAND: world record Catla Catla carp caught
To catch a Catla carp of a big size does not happen everyday. Last time we had a few good catches was at Ratchaburi lake around 2009. That very month, I set a first entry in the IGFA records list with a catch of a 15.17 kg fish. Three clients of us had also such a rare catch; each one in the 14.00 kilos mark. Since we had no capture. It is obvious - at least for Ratchaburi - they bite best

Just a few words to inform you that we have broken 2 days ago the IGFA length record for the redtail catfish category.
I did not expect at all to have anyone breaking the current 109 cm International Game Fish Association length record for that specie this soon. The 109 cm fish was already a big one for Thai standards.
But on Nov. 17, I had a russian angler whom we were guiding for
