Opening week at Fortress Lake

The snow in the mountains is pretty spectacular this spring.There's been amazing snow activity happening at Fortress Lake. The sights and sounds of rolling avalanches are what make this time of year spectacular .Catching a brookie while hearing the thunder from falling snow echoing sticks in one's memory. The sheer power of heavy snow slides shows in what remains on the lower part of the mountains where the snow has melted....piles of trees littered on the mountain side like toothpicks. Some good adventure was had exploring the wood river by boat through the ice walls.Take a look at some of what we and our guests have experienced at Fortress Lake this past week.
